BRAVE SPACE

Rachel is the recipient of the Chamberlain-Rapp Exemplary Leader Award given by the Kansas Consumer Advisory Council on Mental Health.

Rachel started her education with a special focus on peace and conflict studies. This has led Rachel to continue to study these concepts and license as a mediator for a brief period. Rachel strongly believes that transformation comes from the BRAVE SPACE where we can accept the limitations of true safety and step into the growth through BRAVE SPACE.

Rachel builds the therapeutic environment from the perspective of starting this journey in therapy over 15 years ago. Rachel works to embody person-centered approaches that work to meet people where they are from all walks of life. Rachel especially loves working with complex cases. Rachel is playful, direct, and enjoys a challenge.

Their work focuses on treating trauma in marginalized groups, especially those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This evolved out of Rachel's own work to accept their marginalized identity. Rachel is especially interested in working with trauma to the body through techniques like Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Logotherapy, and Internal Family Systems.
