Learning Objectives
1. Explore the Concepts of IFS and Self-Energy
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, emphasizing the role of Self-energy in healing and growth. They will learn to identify and connect with their Self-energy to foster a sense of inner calm, compassion, and confidence.
2. Understand the Kintsugi Philosophy in Healing
Participants will explore the Japanese art of Kintsugi as a metaphor for embracing imperfections and inner transformations. They will learn how the process of highlighting and mending "broken" parts with gold can be applied to personal growth and therapeutic work, symbolizing the strength and beauty in our vulnerabilities.
3. Identify and Relate to Different Parts of Self
Participants will learn to identify various parts within themselves and understand their unique roles and needs. They will develop skills to cultivate acceptance and compassion toward these parts, recognizing their importance in personal identity and healing.
4. Develop Ritual Practices for Connection and Integration
Participants will explore ritual practices that enhance their relationship with different parts of the Self. They will practice methods to honor each part's value, creating intentional and meaningful experiences that support healing and integration.
5. Enhance Cultural Awareness and Sensitivity
Participants will discuss how diverse cultural practices, such as Kintsugi, can enrich therapeutic methods and connect with a variety of clients. They will explore how to use culturally sensitive metaphors and practices to support clients in celebrating their heritage and personal experiences in their healing journey.
These objectives will guide participants in using IFS and somatic therapy methods to deepen self-awareness, acceptance, and resilience within themselves.
